What is KiwiRates?

KiwiRates (kiwirates.co.nz) is a free, independent financial data website built for New Zealanders. It is the most comprehensive single-page NZ financial dashboard available, providing:

KiwiSaver fund comparison — after-fees returns for all 113 NZ funds across 23 providers, sourced from the NZ Disclose Register
Live mortgage rates — fixed and floating rates from ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, Kiwibank, and others, updated on every page load
RBNZ OCR tracker — full decision history since August 2024 with context and a countdown to the next decision
NZ economic data — CPI inflation, GDP growth, and unemployment from Stats NZ and RBNZ

KiwiRates does not receive commissions or referral fees from any bank, KiwiSaver provider, or financial institution whose products appear on the site. The fund and rate data shown reflects publicly available information only.

Data Sources & Methodology

All data on KiwiRates is sourced from official NZ government registers and public APIs:

KiwiSaver Data Notes

KiwiSaver fund returns shown are after fees, before tax. Most KiwiSaver funds are taxed as Portfolio Investment Entities (PIEs) — the tax rate applied depends on your individual PIR tax rate. Returns are sourced from the Disclose Register as at the most recent quarter end (currently 31 December 2025) and are updated quarterly when the Disclose Register refreshes its data.

Fee percentages shown are the total annual fund charge as reported to the Disclose Register, including management fees and administration costs. They represent the fee on an annual basis as a percentage of the fund balance.

Past performance data is historical only. Past performance is not indicative of future returns.

Mortgage Rate Notes

Mortgage rates shown are indicative "carded" (advertised) rates sourced from ratesapi.nz and may not reflect the rate available to any individual borrower. Lenders apply credit assessments and individual conditions. Always contact your lender or a licensed mortgage adviser for a rate applicable to your circumstances.

Technology

KiwiRates is a single-page web application deployed on Cloudflare Pages with a Cloudflare Worker backend for live mortgage rate proxying. The site uses Google Analytics (anonymised) to understand visitor behaviour. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored by KiwiRates.
